Any year you want! I personally started in the 1300s but some others started in the year 0! Whatever floats your boat!

• Question: When my family moves to another country do I still roll for my side households?

You still roll for your side households!

• Question: If a sim has illegitimate children, should I roll the dice for them (birth, birthdays,...)?

They are still part of your family so you still roll for them!

• How do I stop sims from going to school?

you can go into mccc settings and stop sims from going to school. keep in mind these settings will be for every save you have so be sure to have two separate mccc settings

• What rules do people use for gardening? Harvest multiple times or just once?

I personally don’t follow a set of rules for this but famines i do follow a set of rules. Morbids has farming rules you can use or just use the seasons pack. Some just harvest once a year for money.
